For 10 years, Reif Estate Winery has been using Spiral Graphics to fill all our printing needs, from labels to price lists and gift cards. In recent years, Spiral Graphics has also become an integral part of both our branding and label design. Reif Estate Winery had struggled for nearly 20 years to achieve a brand identity in the wine label market. Attempting to showcase its Germanic heritage with a contemporary look and feel to the Reif wine label proved to be most challenging. Working with Spiral Graphics and specifically Maximilian Kaiser, Reif Estate Winery has finally achieved that balance.
In 2006, Maximilian Kaiser was hired by Reif Estate to help us create a brand that would appeal to our broad target market. The creation of this new brand also needed to maintain the integrity of our heritage and previous label design, while simultaneously updating the current look and feel. Mr. Kaiser approached this daunting task with ease, immediately suggesting that we showcase our heritage as he felt that this should be our primary focus (especially in the year we were about to celebrate our 25th Anniversary of winemaking). After extensively researching our family crest, he proposed a new label that achieved every element of our newly designed brand that we had desperately been trying to achieve over the past years.

I am writing this letter to endorse the imagination and creativity of the team at Spiral Graphics. In my role as National Marketing Manager at Sherwin- Williams Automotive Finishes, Spiral Graphics was instrumental in placing Sherwin-Williams at the leading edge of the Canadian transition into Waterborne/Low VOC technology and in promoting the company as a leader in the field of Custom Colors with our Planet Color line. In fact, the Planet Color theme garnered so much attention that a number of distributors and Car Shows were requesting to use our ads as the backdrop for their event promotions. This actually reduced our marketing expenditures by providing us no charge advertising and in some cases show/booth space in exchange for the use of the Planet Color ads created by Spiral Graphics. I have had the fortunate experience to have worked with Spiral Graphics since my days at Southbrook Winery. At that time, our business was mainly that of the printing nature. In the year 2000, my partners and myself opened Lailey Vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake. When we were ready to begin branding for our new winery, there was no question but to have Spiral design our wine labels. Spiral was always very adept at interpreting what we wanted as far as our general look. Of course, we were not disappointed by the tremendous talent.
